
The Public Works Authority of Qatar, known as Ashghal, was established in 2004 to oversee the planning, design, procurement, construction, delivery, and asset management of all infrastructure projects and public buildings in Qatar. Operating under the supervision of the Minister of Municipality, Ashghal plays a pivotal role in the country’s development.

Major Projects
Ashghal is responsible for several key infrastructure programs:
- Highway Programme: Provides vital connectivity across the country, connecting key cities and areas through a world-class highway network. It includes the construction of tunnels, bridges, and multi-level intersections to enhance traffic flow and reduce travel time.
- Local Areas Infrastructure Programme: Develops roads and drainage networks and constructs new infrastructure in all areas of Qatar, providing integrated infrastructure for new areas and improving existing facilities.
- Building Projects: Designs, constructs, and delivers public buildings and facilities for government entities in various sectors, including health, education, and parks, adhering to international standards and sustainable practices.
- Asset Affairs: Manages the operation, maintenance, and development of road and drainage networks, utilizing advanced technologies and proactive maintenance to ensure sustainable development and rapid response to customer feedback.
